Facebook Connect Statistics Issue

Update: There was an update to the implementation. This behavior will no longer be exhibited for visitors using most modern browsers. For the most consistent and best performance, site owners are still encouraged to implement the following fix.

If you’re using Facebook Connect and it’s causing your site statistics to be skewed, we have an interim fix:

  • Download the following file. (right click and save link as)

    http://www.disqus.com/facebook-connect/xd_receiver.html

  • Upload this file to the domain that your call back url references.
    (If your call back url is your-domain.com, you would need to upload it anywhere on your-domain.com for it to work)
  • Add the following code in your website’s <head> :

    <script type="text/javascript">
    var facebookXdReceiverPath='http://your-domain.com/path/to/xd_receiver.html';
</script>

  • Facebook connect is simply amazing many people thinks that it is hard to do it, well they are totally wrong facebook connect is easy as 123, using it is very beneficial.
  • Information on dogs, dog health, dog care, dog puppies etc.

  • @ facedoctor, it is much easier today to protect from mosquito with natural repellents, they don't need any power supply and is chemical free.
  • Wow, I followed these directions to the letter and it ended up causing even more problems. All of a sudden my site was showing a ton of 404 errors, all of which were from that "/path/to/xd_receiver.html" URL. Not good and I definitely won't be using Facebook Connect now :(. Not sure what the problem is.

    Just applied the fix. Hope it fixes the problem because it's been irritating to see all my numbers skewed.
