A small note regarding Facebook Connect

Our new implementation of Facebook Connect was released on Friday. It’s experimental and may temporarily cause website statistics (Google Ana., Mint, Clicky, etc.) to have been skewed. We’re working on addressing this issue with Facebook and apologize for any inconvenience.

Loggin' in with facebook it does not display neither my name nor my picture...
  • Can you link me to a post where this happens? http://disqus.com/help

Sorry it took me so long... but as you know I had to hit the "load more comments" button a gazillion times... why don't you use page numbers instead? Or latest comments first... just a suggestion...

    Here it is.

    Just for you!

The counter on the top does not display the correct number of posts as well...
  • I am now using Disqua as well as Facebook Comment Box on my Blogger blog (JOURNEYIST) just to see which is better.

So far Disqus loads faster but FB Comment Box integrates more perfectly on the Facebook profile page.

Sooner I will have to decide which one to drop depending on what my commentators prefer to use more.
  • thanks very
  • Getting faster load times with the updated Firefox, better than IE
  • I can't get fb connect to show properly on any blogs that use disqus. My avatar won't display but my name will.

  • Yes, I had clicked the FB connect icon, a shadowbox popped up with the right application name, link to TOS, etc., but the other boxes didn't disappear. I tried again later and it worked. Either it was due to a flaky internet connection or the API key hadn't propagated to all of FB's servers. Looks like it's working now.

It's nice that it works without the secret key. I can give the API key to all OurDoings users who want Disqus integration.
  • I do not see any FB comments made by you, just an anonymous one. I
left a FB comment so you can see what they look like. In order to make
one you must click the FB connect icon and connect your account first.

    Cheers,

  • I set up Facebook Connect and did a test comment here: http://ourdoings.com/ourdoings-startup/2009-03-07

It didn't take away the name/email/website boxes and wouldn't let me leave them blank. Is that the way it's supposed to be? I thought Facebook Connect replaced filling in that info.
