How to: Integrate Disqus manually on Blogger/Blogspot

Once again, the community lends us a hand. This one comes from Laibcoms (thanks!).

We recommend only advance users and tinkerers attempt this one. If you’re having any problems with our Blogger integration tool, try this guide on manually editing the template.

Of course, we do plan on releasing an improved integration tool in a near-future release.

[UPDATE] Laibcoms also has another guide for integrating Disqus with Blogger classic templates.

  • Recentely I was recommomed this discuss comment system by my friend and I find it is benefit for me very much .It's clear improvement over static comments

    Hi JC , I have a slight problem : I had difficulty implementing Disqus on my Blog manually ( this time around - I have installed it manually on 2 other blogs & had no problem whatsoever -first shot & Bang it was done ) This time around it was like removing a wisdom tooth :( so I downloaded the template and copied the finished code back into my page . Now I have the Disqus PLUS the Blogger comment form resting INSIDE the Disqus system :((( I need to know the code for the BLOGGER system in order to just remove it - but I just cant seem to find it ! Help me please ???? :((

  • Well....disqus comment is great...but I've been struggling to remove original blogger comment. Can you assist me how to remove it? i follow step by step instructon from disqus forum how to install it in blogger and it's done but blogger comment still appear

  • If you have issues with the comment counter, use Feedburner. Take a look at my blog if you are interested in seeing it but it's pretty seamless

  • Why is it only for advance users? I am not good in manual integration and hope there is help out there!I have used blogger for numerous years and I didn't make use of their comment systems as it doesn't seems useful to me. Guides for novice on Blogger integration please!

    It's good to see that disqus gives credit to the volunteers who came up with guides. Is it really that difficult that the guides are only for advance users? I am not very good at it but hope that there is still help to assist me through.

    I am still awaiting for the improved integration tool! Or it's already out and I've missed it! A suggestion here! Probably by enabling trackbacks, Is it possible if trackbacks we related topics are included as well? And so we are able to track forward as well!

    I don't think it's Chrome.

    Threaded conversations automatically shorten line length.

    I turned of threaded conversations to see if that would help.
