The email you have for your account will pull the gravatar associated with

Are we able to see through the normal avatar if they are using gravatar or not?It looks to be rather convenient for users.

Are we only able to use gravatar now? As I have been trying to upload pictures as my avatar but it doesn't appear. If there are certain restrictions, I suggest that Disqus should have it indicated so that people can avoid doing it. Guess I should sign up a gravatar account now since most commenters gave positive comment about it.

Gravatar didn't occur to me before reading this entry on gravatar supports. Have read through about gravatar and felt that it is a must to have support to it as I assured that it will be the upcoming trend of getting a uniform avatar throughout the web.

There are plenty of users that relies on gravatar heavily. Therefore, the need of supporting gravatar is important as avatars do show the reliability of the account and certain people would prefer to have a similar picture used throughout the net.

How do Disqus know if we have a gravatar account?Do we have to input anything that is related to it?

I don't have a gravatar account and attempt to upload my own avatar but i can't see it! Are there any restrictions of the uploading?

I will prefer to have my gravatar icon displayed on disqus. It is much easier to manage my default icon in most social networks.

Nice upgrade and that explains why our staff's account displays their images even though they have not uploaded their avatars.
