New Dashboard feature: Manage threads

You may notice a few new things in your Disqus dashboard this morning.

Check the top right of your dashboard and you’ll see a toggle to switch from managing comments to managing threads. This is something that we’ve been promising for a little while now, and we’re pleased to finally get it out there. The ability to “Lock” threads is not yet online, but look for it in the next few days.

Also, you’ll see a new “Admin” toggle next to comments in your dashboard. This is a work in progress and it will soon be updated with the ability to block unsavory commenters, right from this interface.

  • OK, either I'm really really slow or there's a bug.

When I click on "Threads", I just see a poorly formatted version of my posts with my icon next to them, I've checked three pages and have yet to find any comments that were actually left.

Further, the dates of these odd entries are completely off - saying "1 day ago" when neither the entry nor a comment was left during that period of time.

    Am I missing something?
  • These are the dates the threads were created on our system. Whether or not the entry was written at the time doesn't play a role.

When you click on threads, you should see exactly that -- entire discussion threads. This has nothing with comments.

    I hope that helps.
  • Thanks for the follow-up, but I'm still not quite understanding what the purpose is. All this appears to be is a long list of random blog entries, poorly formatted. I tried to click through to an individual post (thinking that by "discussion" you meant blog post), but again, just not making sense what the purpose is.

    Thanks!
  • It's to remove threads. Threads can be created so they can be removed.

If you don't need it, you don't need it.
  • Thanks, Luke!
  • Awesome! Now the "Comments" button has a purpose =) Looks good!
