Would it be possible to tie an anonymous username to an imaginary friend on FriendFeed? I was hoping to be able to just put in "ea358e9645912b49fc8f963e268ade28" for the username of the person I want to follow, but it says it is invalid? Is that an API issue?

It's not an API issue, but rather FriendFeed uses a particular RSS feed that doesn't yet exist for anonymous usernames.
