Load spike

Disqus is experiencing a load spike this afternoon. Please bear with us as we take a few moments to address this. More updates soon.

Update 1:34PM: Everything is now peachy. We’re in the process of making some heavy infrastructure additions that will make things extra-peachy.

Mobile commenting

We ran into some small bugs with the reply-by-email feature this week. Most of it is fixed, but please bear with us as we knock out any issues that are still around.

On that note, Disqus is looking to make mobile commenting (ala the aforementioned feature) more powerful. We’re working on a couple ideas that should see the light of day soon. Does anyone out there have any thoughts around this that they’d like to throw on the wishlist?

Server hiccup this morning

Update 2: The issue may have been related to a recent update we made coupled with Disqus being very popular this morning. We’ve made the necessary steps to avoid this happening again in the future.

We like February

February is one of my favorite months. Here in California, February is pretty much in between the sporadically rainy Winter and the consistently sneezy Spring. Incidentally, both of us Disqus founders were born in February as well.

So it saddens me to realize that we haven’t written a Disqus blog update this month yet. Incidentally, this month has some of the biggest things going on for Disqus, and we’ve certainly been busy. We’re still working on our next update, still planned for before March hits us. There have been continual small fixes and updates pushed out weekly (which is not overtly apparent enough to notice unless, well, it doesn’t work — which is a good thing).

More soon!
