Beta opens up some more plus new changes

For the past couple weeks, we’ve been testing Disqus on a handful of blogs and websites — huge thanks to all of our testers! We’ve gotten some really good feedback and suggestions since. What we’ve received even more were requests from people itching to give Disqus a whirl themselves. If you emailed us about it, we’ll be contacting you soon if we haven’t already. Today, we are starting to take in more testers. If you’re interested, sign up on our front page.

We’ve also unrolled a number of changes, including an updated user interface for tracking your comments. Be sure to try out the new follow feature, which allows you to track any others’ posts as they make them. For site owners, check out the new moderate panel.

But bigger changes are afoot. Here’s what to expect very soon.

Notifications for when someone posts a comment or replies to your own
  • Migration support to import/export comments
  • Track comments, vote on comments without registering an account
  • Widgets for top and popular comments
  • Revamping of customization tools
  • New, full forum platform with skinning capabilities
  • Statistics and analytical tools for discussion posts
  • Open API for developers

Yup, we’ve been busy. We’re trying to get a more public release out sometime this next month; wish us luck. :)
