Today begins Entrepreneurship Week

The Kaufman Foundation launches EntrepreneurshipWeek USA today. It’s basically a bunch of activities and events across the nation held throughout this coming week. They range from competitions and contests to presentations and academic forums, with more than 700 organizations participating.

So if you’ve ever had some good ideas but tossed them aside because you didn’t know how or where to start, this week might be the time to explore those thoughts once again.

Over here at Davis, there’s the Little Bang Expo that’s been held annually for some time. It encourages people to actually make those difficult initial steps in having their ideas realized. Right now, it’s focused on the sciences with categories in clean energy, food & health, computational science & nanotechnology, and medical & biological innovations.

Whatever it is that you’ve thought about pursuing — take it on. I might see you on The Big Idea (one of my favorite shows, by the way) one day.

Open for Business

Hello everybody.

This is the standard first post. It’s tough being First Post, and it’s not a glamorous position. While there may be some prestige or nostalgic pride attached to the designation, First Post has some mighty expectations to live up to. But frankly, usually it’s quite lacking of content. Well, First Post, don’t worry about it. You’ve done your job.

Nonsensical ramblings aside, I’d just like to welcome you, the reader, to bigheadlabs.com. From now on, I’ll be writing about… well, you’ll see soon enough.
